COVID-19 Information

Dear Employees, Customers and Vendors,

As the impact from the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues around the world, we would like to keep you up-to-date with information, guidance and policies that we have put in place so that we can all protect each other. For more information please visit the CDC Website.

As of March 20, 2020:

  • Temperature Readings

All employees must take their temperatures every morning and provide a picture of the temperature reading from their cellphones before they will be allowed to work.  This also applies to employees that have been granted the ability to work from home.

  • Calling Off Sick

If you need to call off due to feeling sick, you are required to send an email with your temperature reading by 8am.  If your temperature is less than 100 degrees, you may return to work the next day.   You will be subject to having your temperature taken before entering the building, mid-day and before you leave to go home for the next three days.

If your temperature is 100 degrees or higher, you are required to stay home.  You must submit your temperature every morning by 8am and again at 3pm during this time and will not be allowed to return to work until your temperature is below 100 degrees for 3 consecutive days.   You will be subject to having your temperature taken before entering the building, mid-day and before you leave to go home upon returning to work.

Shop employees will send to Greg at greed@unitedarchitectural.com.  Office employees will send to Janice at jromar@unitedarchitectural.com

  • International Travel

UAM will require a 14 day quarantine before an employee will be allowed to return to work.

  • Domestic Travel

UAM strongly discourages traveling at this time unless it is an emergency situation.

As of March 17, 2020:

  • We are adopting a temporary company-wide lunch and leaving the premises restriction policy.

The UAM building is closed to all visitors.
All office personnel cannot leave our building once they have clocked in for the day. We will reduce the lunch hour to a 1/2 hour and allow all to leave a 1/2 hour early at the end of the day.
For any events that are not able to be rescheduled, please talk with your supervisor. We realize we will need to adjust and work with all these new circumstances as they pop up. If leaving is necessary we will ask you to please sign out and back in at the front desk and upstairs.

As of March 12, 2020:

  • Travel and Access to Our Facility

Anyone who has been to a country listed on the CDC watch/alert list, which currently includes China, Iran, South Korea, most European countries, United Kingdom and Ireland are not allowed at our facility or office for 14 days from the date they departed from that location. Additionally, if anyone had close contact with these individuals, they are not allowed at our facility or office until the traveler has been symptom-free for 14 days from the date they traveled. If anyone had close contact with an individual who has a confirmed positive test result for COVID-19, they are not allowed at our facility or office until they have been symptom-free for 14 days from the date of contact.

  • Sickness

Please communicate to everyone to stay home if they have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing and please notify us immediately if they have been at our facility or office.  They should seek medical care early and stay away from others. They should not return to work until they show no signs of illness or fever, without the use of a fever reducing medicine, for 72 hours AND 7 days have passed since your symptoms started.  We do have a comprehensive plan for our personnel – please e-mail snesbitt@unitedarchitectural.com if you would like a copy of that plan.

  • Symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath – similar to influenza or a bad cold. These symptoms may appear in 2 – 14 days after exposure. Additional information about coronavirus symptoms can be found on the CDC Website.

  • Helpful Tips

Stay home when you are sick – wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds – cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough and immediately wash your hands or sanitize – avoid close contact with others, especially those who are sick – clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily – avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Transmission

According to the CDC, the virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person: between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet); or, through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. There currently is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of COVID-19 in the United States associated with imported goods. According to the World Health Organization coronaviruses do not survive long on objects.

  • Financial/Operational Transactions

There are individuals who will try to take advantage of situations like this to target the financial dealing of companies. We will not change payment or delivery instructions via email or text. Please do not act upon or accept any requests to change instructions unless the communication comes directly from, Tom Nesbitt, CEO or Shelly Nesbitt, President in writing by regular mail, and then please follow up with a phone call to us at a number you know to be accurate.

As this is a dynamic situation, we will continue to closely monitor the situation and our policies.  Guidelines are likely to change as the situation continues to evolve.  Our focus is sharing information, reducing the potential for the spread of the virus, supporting the continuity of our operations and most importantly protecting people.

Thank you for doing your part in promoting a healthy and safe environment for all people.

Sincerely,

Shelly Nesbitt,
President
