COVID-19 Information

Dear Employees, Customers and Vendors,

As the impact from the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues around the world, we would like to keep you up-to-date with information, guidance and policies that we have put in place so that we can all protect each other. For more information please visit the CDC Website.

As of February 19, 2021:

  • Masks & Cleanliness

All employees and visitors must wear a proper mask over your nose AND mouth to keep your respiratory droplets in and others’ out. Masks must remain on except for when you are at your desk that has been socially distanced and/or has a divider wall for increased protection. Stay at least 6 ft. apart from others. Wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds – cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough and immediately wash your hands or sanitize. Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily – avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Temperature Readings

All employees must take their temperatures every morning and email a picture of the temperature reading before they come into work.  This also applies to employees that have been granted the ability to work from home. Shop employees will send to Greg at greed@unitedarchitectural.com.  Office employees will send to Janice at jromar@unitedarchitectural.com

  • Hours & Entry

UAM is open 8 am – 5 pm Monday – Thursday with lunch at 12 pm -1 pm. The building is in lockdown with the only entrances at the Main Office door and the Plant Employee entrance.

  • Calling Off Sick

If you need to call off due to feeling sick, you are required to send an email with your temperature reading by 8am.  If your temperature is less than 100 degrees, you may return to work the next day.   You will be subject to having your temperature taken before entering the building, mid-day and before you leave to go home for the next three days.

If your temperature is 100 degrees or higher, you are required to stay home.  You must submit your temperature every morning by 8am and again at 3pm during this time and will not be allowed to return to work until your temperature is below 100 degrees for 3 consecutive days.  You will be subject to having your temperature taken before entering the building, mid-day and before you leave to go home upon returning to work.

Notify us immediately if you have Covid-19 and have been at our facility or office.  You should seek medical care early and stay away from others. Do not return to work until there are no signs of illness or fever, without the use of a fever reducing medicine, for 72 hours AND 7 days have passed since your symptoms started.  We do have a comprehensive plan for our personnel – please e-mail snesbitt@unitedarchitectural.com if you would like a copy of that plan.

Shop employees will send to Greg at greed@unitedarchitectural.com.  Office employees will send to Janice at jromar@unitedarchitectural.com

Upon telling your manager/supervisor that you would like to go home due to being ill or sick, you will be required to submit a temperature reading.

  • International Travel

UAM prohibits employees from international travel.

  • Domestic Travel

UAM strongly discourages traveling at this time unless it is an emergency situation. We will follow the current State Orders and guidelines allowing travel in and out of the state of Ohio.

  • Visitors & Access to Our Facility

Vendors and customers may come onsite by appointment only and enter the facility through the assigned door, Main Office or Plant entrance. When scheduling an appointment with a vendor or customer, they must know our precautions and be asked the following questions:

    • Do you have a fever (100.4 or higher) or feel feverish?
    • Do you have chills or new muscle aches?
    • Do you have a new cough or sore throat?
    • Do you have shortness of breath?
    • Do you have a new headache?
    • Do you have a new loss of smell or taste?
    • Have you traveled internationally? If so, they are not allowed at our facility or office for 14 days from the date they arrived in country. Additionally, if they had close contact with an individual who has a confirmed positive test result for COVID-19, they are not allowed at our facility or office until they have been symptom-free for 14 days from the date of contact.

Employees working from home must make appointments to come on site, and must wear face masks and social distance.

  • Symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) & Its Transmission

Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath – similar to influenza or a bad cold. These symptoms may appear in 2 – 14 days after exposure. Additional information about coronavirus symptoms can be found on the CDC Website.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close contact from person to person, including between people who are physically near each other (within about 6 feet) by airborne transmission. People who are infected but do not show symptoms can also spread the virus to others. Though less common, it is possible that a person could get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes.

  • Financial/Operational Transactions

There are individuals who will try to take advantage of situations like this to target the financial dealing of companies. We will not change payment or delivery instructions via email or text. Please do not act upon or accept any requests to change instructions unless the communication comes directly from, Tom Nesbitt, CEO or Shelly Nesbitt, President in writing by regular mail, and then please follow up with a phone call to us at a number you know to be accurate.

As this is a dynamic situation, we will continue to closely monitor the situation and our policies.  Guidelines are likely to change as the situation continues to evolve.  Our focus is sharing information, reducing the potential for the spread of the virus, supporting the continuity of our operations and most importantly protecting people.

Thank you for doing your part in promoting a healthy and safe environment for all people.

Sincerely,

Shelly Nesbitt,
President
